Objective: What is Apartheid and how is it evident in both the novel and the film "Invictus?"

Objective: What is a dystopian novel and why do we read them?

1- Watch the following power point-- If you were absent, write a paragraph defining a Utopia and a Dystopia ans how they relate to each other.

2- Watched the clip from Wall-E and looked for ways in which it is dystopic.

Homework:
Write a paragraph defining dystopian novels and explain why you would enjoy reading this kind of novel as a class.

Objective: How does setting affect the characters' action?

Students continued watching the film as they analyzed the following question:


How does setting affect the characters in the novel/film? Consider all characters; analyze as you watch today.
·      Consider where characters grew up
·      Where they are now in the plot (others’ homes, town, events)
·      How they change or stay the same from place to place
