B6-- Friday, January 25- Monday, February 4

I was sick much of the past week. Here is one blog post reviewing all assignments during that time.

Friday, January 25
Objective: What is the bystander effect? How can we avoid it?

1- Turn in Homework
2- Complete following prompt-- We are more than half way through the book. What do you think of Melinda so far? Do you think her silence is reasonable? Do you think she is handling the situation the right way? What do you think happened to her to create such a silence in her life?
3- Watch Speak clip
4- Bystander Article and questions
5- Group Activity with Hate Chart--Students have to create scenarios for the perpetrator, the collaborator, and the bystander. When complete, place them on the board in the appropriate spot of the chart. Next, groups exchange cards and read the new scenarios. Students must write a response to the scenario--the response needs to be a way that they can become a rescuer in that situation.
