5- We went over commonly confused words in preparation for the CRT test. Students need to know the difference between the following pairs:

  • allusion/illusion
  • complement/compliment
  • imply/infer
Homework:
Read chapters 14 through 17
Write: We knew that the novel would focus on Kumalo’s struggles, both internally and externally. Write a one-page response exploring two or three of his most challenging experiences in Johannesburg. Don’t summarize his difficulties in more than one sentence—Remember I’ve read the book. Instead, I want you to explore why these are so difficult for him and how he deals with them.
