Objective: How to find a theme from a book or movie--
Here's what we did in class today:
1- Took a quiz on the last 30 pages of the book--students wrote a paragraph describing the end of the novel with as much detail as possible.
2- Theme songs identification--I played ten popular movie theme songs. Students tried to identify them along with any topics that are explored in that film.
3- Turing a topic into a theme- We practiced with the movies, but then applied it to both Fahrenheit 451 and The Truman Show. See handout below:
