Honors 11 Friday, March 23

Today was the Peer Edit Review- Students showed up with three copies of their research paper. Each student read and edited two other papers.

Directions for Peer Review—each student will do this for two papers
1. Write your name on the top of the back of their paper
2. Read the intro paragraph- Underline what you think is the thesis statement
3. Read each paragraph and on the back, write how you see that paragraph connecting to the thesis (if it really doesn’t—tell them)
4. Count how many times they use in-text citations- Give them a ratio of paraphrase to direct quotes—example 15 in text citations 10 paraphrase and 5 direct quotes
5. Answer the following question below your ratio: Does the paper flow or does it feel choppy because of the way they inserted research?
6. Read a second time, marking any grammatical errors, misspelled words, fragments, or run on sentences.

Homework: Your final draft is due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, March 27. NO LATE PASSES!!!
