Here's what we did in class today:
Students came prepared with 18 interview questions for the various characters in the novel. When the came to class, they noticed that the classroom was decorated like a radio station. 6 students pretended they were the characters from the novel and the rest of the class "called in" with questions. Basically it was a call-in radio show and our guests were characters from Lord of the Flies.
Homework:
Continue drafting your lit. analysis of Lord of the Flies. Things to consider regarding your paper:
- MLA format
- follow the example essay for a visual--I posted this to the blog on Monday.
- Double space
- Times New Roman, 12 font
- NO spaces between paragraphs!!!
- Your paper should go onto a 3rd page. So it is longer than 2 pages, right?
- Remember to have a clear, strong, arguable thesis statement followed by arguable Thesis-Specific-Topic-Sentences.
- Quotes
- Use quotes that are powerful and concise. Your paper should mostly be analyzing HOW that quote proves and TIES BACK to your thesis.
